Inspired by Music Video's of the 80's, I set out to illustrate the people from them. My aim was to experiment with the eclectic colours associated with the era, whilst enhancing my pen work. 

All images below were created using POSCA pens. I used pencil to outline the image and then expressively moved my hand to the tempo of the music to get the scribbled effect. 

Project began at Duran Duran's timeless "Rio" video with excellent imagery and outfit choices, I was spoilt for choice for which parts I should choose to illustrate. 

Rick James - Give It To Me Baby. Certainly the most interesting video I've seen. a notoriously wild character, deserved only the most eclectic imagery.
